Email improvement

Too many e-mails in inbox

I implemented a process of new work management:\\\\r\\\\n\\\\r\\\\n1) new rule: no email lives in my inbox more than 48 hours\\\\r\\\\n2) new process: email does not require immediate attention. Schedule time to respond by sorting all incoming emails into groups…task: urgent; task: low.

Less time managing emails; improved responsiveness.

    How is this going?

Well, I had fallen off the wagon over the last several weeks allowing my inbox to return to its historical storage of old email role.

Jist this week, however, I cleansed my inbox - which felt really empowering. I moved those items that i need to take action in to an @Actions folder. Now, I need to work through that folder sorting active messages and eliminating old, obsolete ones.

Slow steps toward ‘getting things done’

I found this organizational tip on the internet somewhere years ago, used it with success.
I’ve set up the following folders in my email client: action, archive, hold, respond, waiting. A couple of time a day I manage my email, moving items from my inbox to these folders. I usually have an empty inbox.
